On a trip to Ireland in the spring of 2002, we attended the “Mill Street Horse Fair”. We saw our first Gypsy horse and also met Pat Cash, owner of Clononeen Farms. Pat invited us to his farm to see his Gypsy horses.
Pat was a gracious host and a quite the horseman. We purchased our first Gypsy mare, “Caoimhe” 2 days later. When we returned home we made a phone call back to Pat and asked him to ship “Nancy” along too. Shona was purchased the following year and Aiofe (my sister’s mare) is also part of our Gypsy Farm. All of our mares are from Clononeen Farms in Ireland.
Our mares are healthy, well cared for, loved, a little spoiled. Finnegan’s Fields is located in central Wisconsin.
We plan to keep our herd small, breed to superior stallions and produce foals that represent the finest of this breed.
Our mares are registered with the GCDHA, ICS and GVHS. A special thank you to Becky Glover from the GCDHA who has helped us learn along the way and always has answers for our questions.
Also, thank you to my sister, Lana, who brought this breed to our attention, talked us into meeting her and her husband in Ireland, and took us to the “Mill Street” horse fair.
